Sat 24th Jan

Yes, remember that date. This Saturday, from 1800, there will be a New Year gala concert at St. Augustine's church, which is on Richmond Road, Cambridge. (Leave extra time to find it: the church is a converted schoolhouse, so it doesn't look like a church. Last time we played there it took me ages to find it in the dark.)

I will be playing as a member of CSD Brass, and we're top-'n'-tailing the programme. Keeping the audience warm in the middle will be Mayfield Primary School Orchestra (who I'm told sound less like a school orchestra than we do), and two soloists. It'll be a roaring evening, with exciting and noisy pieces like Sleeping Beauty Waltz and Radetsky March. There have even been hints that I might reprise my awesome interpretation of Fascinating Drums at the end if the audience is on its feet, but I'll have to be sure to practise it this week.

It's a free concert, with a collection at the end. I hope to see you there.
