For those of you who didn't hear by other means, my recent lack of updates was caused by by recent lack of being at home. I had a nice holiday here with my family and have posted the photos on my gallery.

On my return, though, I was shocked to see a copy of (IIRC) the Daily Express. It's quite normal for newspapers to offer a promotional gimmick as an inducement to buy. Often this takes the form of a free CD, or a competition. But I am quite worried by the new offer I saw on Saturday: free water for every reader.

The only explanation I can think of is that they are trying to increase their readership among the unfortunate residents of Gloucestershire, many of whom have over the past few weeks had enough flood water to float a battleship but scarcely enough drinking water to float a rubber duck.
