Amusing typos
On arriving home from work I find on my doormat, along with a letter from my grandmother and yet another circular for the previous occupant, a catalogue from David Nieper: Classic Ladies [sic] Fashion. Judging from the picture on the cover, the fashion in question is underwear. Wondering if this is yet yet another circular for the previous occupant (who was female), I take a look at the address panel. It is addressed to “Mrs Daniel Hulme”.
I can only guess that some minimum-wage “data entry” worker has ticked the wrong box or fluffed a key in passing on your details to selected companies and organisations. But I am left with a feeling that somewhere, demographic targeting of junk mail has gone horribly wrong.
It's so hard to see the Sun with the truth in your eyes.
